Plans were in place and we were really looking forward to travelling to Nashville in Spring 2020 to record this album with Phillip Anderson when the pandemic struck and the world changed. But thanks to Philip and technology we were able to go ahead and make it happen despite the distance between us.
Our vocals and Mackie's guitar work were recorded here in Mackie's home studio in Blydoit, Scalloway. The files were then sent over to Phillip in Nashville where he mixed and added more backings and brought in two excellent Nashville musicians, Aubrey Haynie on fiddle and Steve Hinson on steel.
So although we were sorry to miss out on our trip to Nashville the next best alternative has been a relatively smooth process.
Five of the songs on this album are self-penned. We have also included a mix of covers, some of which we have played with the band over the years and others which are new to us.
This is our 5th album to date. We've been glad to have a project that saw us through the lockdown and beyond, and have really enjoyed putting this album together.

Phillip Anderson at Storm West Studio in Nashville TN for his brilliant musicianship, time and patience in recording this album.
Rhonda Simpson for duetting in Storms Never Last and for her harmonies.
